What You Should Know
On YouTube Thursday, May 8th, 2020, through the renowned independent record label Entertainment One Nashville, David Billingsley — Founder and Executive Director of The Billingsley School of Music & Arts — premiered a verve visual for his new single, ‘I Surrender All.’
As of Wednesday, May 13, 2020, the visual has already amassed more than 500 views, and 25 nods. Not to be confused with the other Christian artist Christian Billingsley, David Billingsley is a Bonafide musician and vocalist, a heavenly instrument having contributed to sets by industry incredibles such as Stokley, Sounds of Blackness, James Grear & Company, and several others.

What It Sounds Like
Heaven. Homage to Heaven, to be real. I am proud of this new single from Billingsley, because it reminds me of the fact that I surrendered all in order to have Jesus lead my life. The title alone is reminiscent of my vow to Christ, and ultimately to myself. It is the ultimate self-love.
To put it in review terms, ‘I Surrender All’ is an absolute professional production, laced with uplifting melodies and hooks, with God’s glory being quite evident.
Have you heard ‘There’s A Fountain Filled With Blood’ by Micah Stampley? Well, quite frankly, Billingsley’s ‘I Surrender All’ is just as beautiful. Those opening keys, gracing my ears one at a time seemingly… an experienced music lover will recognize this tune as blissful. I know I did.

Spiritual/Lyrical Highlights
One great task of a music video is to personalize the song with a backstory, a relatable sight and sound for us music lovers to connect to — and, of course to increase streams and unit sales. I can make plain how the music video for ‘I Surrender All’ does just that.
David Billingsley graces the screen immediately, connecting us to him and what appears to be an area he calls home. That quick invitation there makes me feel welcome to his world, to his prayer closet. Accompanying this spiritual song are lyrical statements and prayers, presumably of Billingsley’s own God-centeredness. These poetic colloquialisms appear one after the other, and at 2:22 precisely, this angelic lyric read: “Truly Know That Thou Art Mine….”
For me, validating how strong my own connection to the good God truly is.
